In the early years of the last millennium, the Anasazi Indians, ancestors to the Hopi, built a civilization unlike anything the American Southwest had ever seen. While Europe was still in the Dark Ages, the Anasazi created a society renowned for its artistry and its advanced social structure. But recent findings of violence and cannibalism within the Anasazi community have transfixed the archaeological community.
